Every year they raise the gas tax and every year the roads and potholes get WORSE. How is this possible?

California gas prices are going up 2¢ again and the tax hike is to pay for California's highway and street maintenance. You know folks the strange thing about that is that's the same reason gas taxes were hiked up last time and the time before that and the time before that!... It's mighty peculiar how California's gas taxes keep going up to repair California's highway's and bridges and streets and there still run down and decrepit after decades of maintenance and repair. How could California's highway's, streets and bridges still be in need maintenance and repair after billions of dollars have been spent to affect this in even the last five or ten years? Seems rather strange to me how this huge maintenance project isn't coming to fruition after billions of dollars have been spent on it and yet California's gas taxes keep going up. My only conclusion after many years of gas tax increases is ... I don't believe California highways and street repair is the reason gas taxes are being increased again and again and again and again. Hey people, Does everyone get the picture ?...🤬🤬🤬

@mustang7603

The County of Los Angeles Annual Litigation Cost Report indicated that in FY 2022-2023, the County paid $257.4 million to satisfy 22 judgments and settle 320 lawsuits in total, covering various types of litigation.
One specific case mentioned a $19.75 million settlement against LA County related to a "Dangerous Road Condition" in August 2022.
The city of Los Angeles has faced a significant rise in overall lawsuits and liability payouts in recent years, with "failing infrastructure" being cited as a major contributing factor alongside the LAPD.

@tylercuddletail

I love how California made it easier to cancel online subscriptions. Also cool that you can get lids for beverages in bars to prevent yourself from getting roofies.

@EVILSHAD0

California state legislation is scrambling to make bills , like a problem child making it difficult for the cleaner to do their job !

@ranejameson

gas prices are at the lowest point in the last four years.

@abc123fhdi

so it will be another $16 on top of that next year, and the next year. And also the 65 cents for the new blend.
