Can we hit 500 LIKES to do Omaha?! With the Iowa Caucuses coming up, it just made sense to cover Des Moines, which is actually an amazing city to live in! Hope you all enjoy and
Which city do YOU want me to make a video about NEXT?!

@D3vilD3v

Moved here to Des Moines in September of 2018 and I absolutely love it here. Good people, good bars, good food, good atmosphere.

@zachbauer6999

Just wasted 13 minutes listening to a guy basically whine about the weather lmao.

@Datsun01

I was born and raised in Des Moines, it’s like every other city in the united states. Every state has its up and downs.

@EAMHawkeye

Born and raised in Iowa, I fully endorse the weather complaints.

@flupplez1297

I can confirm everyone there is pretty nice and welcoming

@dearhowie4937

I lived in Des Moines for more than a decade. I did notice a few things that weren’t mentioned, like the annual international food festival held on the bridges over the Des Moines River, it was amazing and one of my favorite things to look forward to every year. Also, While it is true that Iowa has humid summers and super cold snowy winters, Des Moines also has one of the better bus services I have seen for a city that size - I will also mention that I am blind so I know public transportation -. Also the skywalk system connects much of the downtown area making it quick and easy to escape the humid summers and the cold snowy winters to get where you need to go. as I mentioned before I am blind Des Moines also houses the Iowa Department for the blind which offers training services and one of the largest braille library‘s. Furthermore, Des Moines is one of the friendliest cities I have ever lived in. They are kind, they are helpful, they are considerate, by no means passive aggressive LOL they just don’t see the need to complain about things that aren’t going to end the world. I don’t really see how finding better and brighter things to talk about as a negative.

@summerwendt5167

If you were to read the small paragraph about Des Moines in a US travel book it would seem quit uneventful here. There is literally something happening every weekend. From various cultural/ music/ art festivals, Farmers Markets, Sport Tournaments, Free Art and Historical Museum, Trails loads of them( you can ride your bike from downtown to Saylovrille Lake). We have loads of local parks as well as many State parks in our state that are worth looking at. Many of these parks have year round event you just have to check with the local DNR. Some of my recomendations are Legion State Park, Maqoketa State Park and Backbone. Iowa is not flat as anyone who has done RAGBRI a yearly bike ride done across state. If you can't find something to do in Des Moines are in the surrounding areas you are living under a rock of some sorts. True not every activity or event is free, but some of them are well worth the cost.

@Dr.TuRon_Davis

I've been to Des Moines & it's like a smaller version of Kansas City, Mo.

@kailashgaj

Moved here in 2014. I love Des Moines, Iowa. A wonderful city to live.

@ALRULZ1965

I'm from Rockford Illinois, so Des Moines sounds like paradise.

@rushman8

Fact number 2 is so off base. You clearly haven't spent any time in Des Moines.

@indehouse9469

“Nothing to do outside” while the biggest skatepark in the USA is being built there

@ACuteBabyKitten

Yeah you should only do a video like this if you have lived somewhere for more then a couple years because as a 30 year old native iowan and Des Moines resident I can tell you there are many inaccuracies with this list
