The daughter was the criminal in this story. I don't care what my father did, if he had heart enough to set aside a way for me to be taken care of, I would be there the day he got out. Don't ever bite the hand that covers you, that means out of all the evil people they took advantage of, you are their innosence. When he saw the daughter living in luxury dating a wall street guy of all people, he realized she is hypergamus as the next chic, only he got caught, and he took it all back. Serves her right. Watch this movie in a Red Pill lens and you will see, stealing is wrong, but he's more like Robin Hood than our actual rich, Robbing Hoods.

I love how the whole movie builds up the tension with all the financial problems happening, and then BAM! Gekko comes back and proves he’s still got it. I also like the fact that he gives his daughter the money at the end of the movie. It makes the viewer think that maybe he changed for the better.

I mean I completely understand where the dad was coming from. He works in the business with wolves and his daughter was about to throw 100 million into random charities ran by shady people. He took it and made his family billionaires. It seems crazy but it’s better than letting her give it to random people and never seeing it or knowing where it’s actually going. You’d have to be gullible and stupid to think these charities are using 100% of the money you donate to help people. Same thing with churches. Some people live in wonderland though and he just forced her into reality.
