The Worst of Best Intentions - Billy Jack (1971) #moviereviewpodcast
This week's Movie Review is Billy Jack - the highest grossing movie of 1971. And we've never heard of it before. Kyle and Dave vs The Machine explore how good intentions can go so terribly wrong... so terribly wrong they kind of go... right? There is a reason this movie is not readily available here in Canada. We suspect it might exist more readily in the US as the star, creator, and director of this film Tom Laughlin actually ran for President 3 times over 20 years. Yes... Billy Jack could have been President. And frankly, maybe he should have been? He might have kicked injustice in the face... and there would have been nothing injustice could have done about it. That's how Hapkido could save the world.
This is not a good movie. You should not watch it. But there's a reason it made the most money. So maybe you should watch it... and maybe it's trying to be good. I have to stop typing. I feel like i've been bit by a snake and... I'm having a vision...
