This was written for Day 10 of Ryan Leach's "2022 Theme of the Day Challenge" where I'll compose one piece per day for the entirety of June. The prompt for June 10th was "Last Ceremony". This seemed very fitting for a funeral procession, so I went with the brass-only instrumentation in the style of a funeral march and tried conveying a solemn, respectful but slightly mournful atmosphere.
