Come Holy Spirit #shorts #catholic #holyspirit
🔥 Come, Holy Spirit is one of the most ancient and powerful Catholic prayers, calling upon the Spirit of God to fill us with His light, wisdom, and love.
This prayer is rooted in Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles and transformed them with courage and clarity. Catholics pray this to invite the Spirit into their hearts — to guide, console, strengthen, and sanctify them.
This version includes the traditional Pentecost invocation, the Church’s collect, and a personal prayer to the Holy Spirit.
✨ Why We Pray It:
To ask for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord
To become renewed, peaceful, and inspired
To prepare our souls for deeper union with God
To grow in holiness and joy
This prayer is especially beloved during Pentecost, the Confirmation season, retreats, and moments of discernment or anxiety.
📅 When to Pray:
Before prayer, Mass, or reading Scripture
During the Pentecost novena or Confirmation prep
In times of stress, decision, or spiritual dryness
To invite the Spirit’s fire into our hearts and renew our zeal
"Come Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.
Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created;
And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
LET US PRAY
O God, who didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people by
sending them the light of Thy Holy Spirit, grant us by the same Spirit
to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His
holy comfort. Through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
O Holy Spirit, sweet Guest of my soul, abide in me and grant that I
may ever abide in Thee.
